This is an awesome movie with a great mixture of fine performances, music and an inspirational story! Julianne Michelle is superb as young Shannon, a teen girl who is coping with the recent death of her father only to learn that the mother she was told had died is still alive. She goes to live with this stranger who is her mother and, despite hating the situation at first, she learns her mother's boyfriend, Eric (Jason Gedrick), owns a horse stable and Shannon, like her father, loves horses. Shannon falls in love with a horse she names Rainbow because, as she puts it, Rainbow makes her feel good like a rainbow means a storm has ended. Shannon also begins to connect with her mother, Christine (Claire Forlani). Rounding out this talented cast is Louis Gossett Jr. as horse trainer Max and Eric Roberts as the villain of the story, a man named Mitchell Prescott who wants Rainbow dead.
The film features themes of forgiveness and perseverance. We are pleased to award this entertaining and dramatic movie our Dove "Family-Approved" Seal for ages twelve plus. The film features an exciting race at the conclusion and the ending alone makes this a great watch!
